Gnats team with Scouts, Homeland Security tonight
The Savannah Sand Gnats are teaming with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Boy Scouts of America to educate and encourage their fans to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and schools.
For the fourth consecutive season, Minor League Baseball is joining the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to promote emergency preparedness among fans. The Sand Gnats are part of more than 54 teams participating this season, and will "Ready Night" tonight at Grayson Stadium.
At today's 7:05 p.m. game against the Rome Braves, local Boy Scout troops will distribute "Get Ready Now" brochures to fans when the gates open at 6 p.m. The brochure and other materials are available at www.ready.gov and provide information to help fans and their communities prepare for and respond to potential emergencies.
