Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Contracts with CompuDyne’s Tiburon Unit for $6.6 million Public Safety System

ANNAPOLIS, MD, January 8, 2008 – CompuDyne Corp. announced today that its Tiburon Inc. subsidiary has signed a $6.6 million contract to provide an integrated public safety system for Anne Arundel County, Maryland.

This comprehensive system includes new Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement and Fire Records Management, Investigative Analysis, Mobile Communication, Institutional Management and Civil Process systems to support the law enforcement and fire agencies of Anne Arundel County. The county government serves a population of over 518,000 citizens spread over 416 square miles along the Chesapeake Bay, surrounding the city of Annapolis and Baltimore Washington International Airport.

“Being headquartered in Annapolis, we are quite pleased to serve our local community with a full range of systems in support of its first responders and criminal justice officials,” said Stuart Mackiernan, President and CEO of CompuDyne.

CompuDyne is an industry leader in sophisticated security products, integration, and technology for the public security markets. Its Tiburon subsidiary, based in Pleasanton, CA, is an industry-leading provider of automated public safety and justice systems to meet the demanding and complex needs of law enforcement, fire, rescue, corrections, and justice environments.

After a rigorous bidding process, extensive demonstrations, and a thorough evaluation of multiple vendors, Anne Arundel County chose Tiburon to provide a complete end-to-end suite of public safety systems.

“Tiburon’s software functionality and experience in successfully delivering enterprise-wide solutions to large, diverse agencies was a key factor in selecting Tiburon during this extremely competitive process,” said John Leopold, County Executive for Anne Arundel County.

The new system will provide several benefits to county law enforcement, fire agencies, and corrections operations, including effective resource management, increased productivity, and enhanced information sharing and accuracy.

Currently, Prince George’s County, MD, Arlington County, VA, and the city of Baltimore, MD, all use Tiburon solutions to automate critical public safety information, which saves precious time and improves efficiencies of law enforcement and fire services.

“Tiburon is proud to expand our relationship with agencies throughout the greater Capitol Region and looks forward to a long and successful partnership with Anne Arundel County,” said Gary Bunyard, President and CEO of Tiburon.
